BURDEN OF DREAMS is a documentary about Werner Herzog's struggles to make this film. Waking up today I can’t help but look at the world with different eyes. No fan of his work can live without it, for within its 95 minutes is a stunning portrait of will, largely unseen in the annals of film.
Not only does he have major casting problems, losing both Jason Robards (health) and Mick … Burden of Dreams is an excellent companion piece to the film; it made me appreciate the finished product even more given the hardship endured during the production. Who would dare to make a film in such a dense and inhospitable place?
